About
TRUST is a MUST!
Hi! I am Kim Driskell. I have over 40 years of experience working with all kinds of animals and I have spent over 25 of those years as a licensed veterinary technician. 10 of those years I was a surgical technician in an equine hospital. With that, please know, that I can confidently take care of geriatric or diabetic pets as well as any pets with wounds or ailments that need to be treated and/or medicated. I grew up training and showing horses and dogs. I have worked with horses, goats, sheep, reptiles and birds as well as dogs and cats. All of this experience is what will give you the confidence, and trust, in me to care for your pets and home like they were my own.

The Important Part!
I will provide contactable references upon request
Kim has worked as a Vet Tech for my last two veterinarians, as well as my boarding kennel, and I have been impressed with her interaction with her patients. She is able to calm nervous animals and take their minds from whatever procedure was necessary. After my two senior rescue dogs passed away, I planned to get a puppy rather quickly before getting back to rescue. Kim said she was also a trainer and would help me in any way. She took my puppy at 10 weeks old and within 2 sessions had him sitting on request and started him walking nicely on a leash (something I had trouble teaching him). 4 sessions later, he is a champ on the leash, waits at an open door, is learning ‘leave it’ and a “down stay” and has become very social with other dogs and people. Kim uses a very positive encouraging manner when working with dogs. Her corrections, when needed, are subtle and show the right way to complete an action so the dog will understand and make the corrections. She continues to reinforce prior lessons, then incorporates a new goal. Before each session, Kim asks how “homework” was: Did the dog retain prior lessons or did any new issues come up? Anything she needed to add to our end goals? After each session, she goes over the newly learned skills and shows how to correctly follow what he’s been taught. I believe that training a dog helps create a bond between animal and human. As such, I will continue his training and hope I am fortunate enough that Kim will have space for us as my dog matures. In the future, I will ask Kim to help me bond with all my dogs.

Kim is the best! We found such a gem when we hired her to take care of our dogs. She has gone above and beyond for our two very high maintenance boys Beau and Pretzel. She is caring, conscientious and detail oriented. We would highly recommend her if you are looking for someone to take care of your four legged family members.

I challenged Kim with a super socially anxious 8 month old Australian shepherd mix. She worked with her for a few months on her confidence and, of course, commands. I was very impressed with how well the first few sessions worked and how quickly Charlie was learning. Kim was very patient within her and that allowed Charlie to gain trust and confidence. Kim also gave me tips and techniques to continue to train her at home. Kim has also watched Charlie for us during a couple of summer vacations and she is very good about keeping us updated, with pictures and videos, which puts us at ease during time away. I cannot recommended Kim enough, she amazing!
